Why Design Review Matters

“…assure that new development projects contribute to the character of the community — and create great places of lasting value where people want to live work and shop.” Municipal Design Review Network (MDRN) publication

This piece was created for MDRN to illustrate the value of architectural "design review" including the numerous quality of life and economic development benefits.  The publication also highlights the elements of successful municipal and local design review processes, e.g. landscaping, signage, building design -- and "how it all works" together for an attractive townscape.

Given current economic development pressures and challenges for historic areas, it's a good time to revisit and share this succinct MDRN piece.
